India’s flagship ICT event concludes on a high
 

Industry majors who participated in India’s flagship ICT event, Bangalore IT.biz were unanimous in their praise for the quality of content and participation at the event which concluded in Bangalore today. The annual event with its primary focus on innovation was aimed at capturing major developments in the country even as the thrust was on Research & Development (R&D). Over the last three days, participants were treated to Multi-track conferences, an International Exhibition, CEO conclave, IT Excellence Awards and the National and Rural IT Quiz.


The event attracted ICT industry majors like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Intel, IBM, HCL,  Airtel, Nokia, Siemens, Map my India, Mahendra Satyam, Tata Elxsi, Texas Instruments, Dell and Tessolve. The participants also included over 110 exhibitors AND 900 plus delegates and 600 plus companies along with states like Rajasthan and Bihar - the latest states to foray into the IT sector. The conferences and seminars focused on Innovative solutions offered by ICT and hardware industry in, Urban living, Animation and Gaming, National GIS, Green Technology, Skill development, Cloud Computing, MSMEs, Aadhaar, the ambitious project of UID, and Workshop on Electronics Systems Design and Manufacturing  were also organized.


According to Mr. M.N. Vidyashankar (IAS), Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT, S&T, E-Governance, Government of Karnataka, “The industry response to this year’s event has been tremendous. The Associations like NASSCOM, ISA, MAIT. ELCIA, ITSMA, TiE, EDGE Forum and FISME have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event by ensuring that the conference sessions had the best quality of content and speakers. I am certain that participants will take back with them a rich learning experience through the outstanding quality of speakers and content provided at the various conferences”.


Mr J Parthasarathy, Director STPI, Bangalore and Chennai said, “The three day event has been the most ideal platform for the start-up community wherein they had the opportunity to interact with industry majors and initiate a dialogue for business. STPI also facilitated meetings of some of the best innovators with investors through the YESSS programme”.   


Mr. S. Gopalakrishnan (Kris), Executive Co-Chairman, Infosys Ltd. Said,” This year's Bangalore IT.Biz saw participation from all the major industry bodies in Karnataka and several state delegations. This is a reflection of the renewed interest in growing the IT industry in Karnataka and India as well as learning and networking from each other. The focus of the conference was Innovation which is apt as we look to the next wave of growth and I am sure that this year's deliberations will set the agenda for tomorrow's growth. Bangalore IT.Biz has provided an excellent platform for Young Entrepreneurs, with qualitative proposals which were developed to connect with Venture Capitalists for realization.

The visionary talk on the first day was good and the panel discussions were excellent and very well organized with good participation from the industry fraternity. It was informative and the fact that it was industry driven was something that would take the IT industry way forward in the coming years”, he said.

Prof. Subhash Bhatnagar, Honorary Professor of Information Systems, Indian Institute of Management , Ahmedabad commended the indepth knowledge brought to the table during the event. He said,” Bangalore IT.Biz 2011 is one of those conferences where participants were actively engaged in the conference sessions. Audience had shown remarkable interest in the topic of discussion, ‘AADHAAR’ which made it highly interactive Session. They also raised critical issues on Policy and way Implementation. R&D session has brought out availability of positive ecosystem in existence and its optimum utilization. Excellent enthusiasm was noticed among exhibitors and visitors 

According to Mr.Ashish Kulkarni, CEO Big Animation of Reliance said,” I found the overall quality of the event extremely high. The sessions were well planned and I feel that the Bangalore IT.biz event is fast turning into a thought leadership platform and from my perspective, the animation session has been the best knowledge sharing ever at any conference”.


“We are extremely happy with the level of interactions we have had Bangalore IT.biz wherein we had come with the clear objective of using the event as a platform to profile Rajasthan as the emerging destination for IT particularly in the two tier cities”, said Ms.Ritu Lohiya, Head of investment promotion, Rajasthan.

Sharing his thoughts, Mr. Trevor Killen, Sr. Operations officer, IFC, World Bank Group  said, “Bangalore IT.biz not gave us the opportunity to interact with the IT sector but also take back a lot of learning on the industry”.
